- Happy New Year! On Earth, it began with a by NASA. We now have images of the oldest object ever observed by a spacecraft — Ultima Thule — and it’s four billion miles away.
- The FCC greenlit Google to its radar-based motion sensor that tracks slight hand and finger motions to inform commands. For example, a user could rub a finger on a speaker to turn up its volume instead of adjusting a dial.
- Cathay Pacific Airways accidentally sold first- and business-class seats when they should have cost around $16,000. It’s unfortunately already too late to snag the fares, which were from Vietnam to New York, but the airline will honor the ones already sold.
