Sure, you have sales leads. But to turn them into actual revenue, you need to efficiently manage them and develop relationships. That means separating real prospects from duds, organizing all the data and tracking your key leads on a regular basis.

Dig deeper into the features of the apps you already use. For example, with , tucked away in Google Apps, you can quickly share contacts and emails with specific groups of employees. Simply create the group within Google — say, everyone working on a specific sales project — and then forward emails or without adding each member to a new thread.

Apple’s has a useful “notes” function for storing relationship statuses, company Web pages and instant message handles. You just need to fill out the various contact fields. After that, you can share contacts via email and sync with your other Apple devices.

Relying on email and smartphone address books isn’t always adequate to meet the needs of complex sales campaigns. But a number of cloud-based tools can help guide sales efforts. by Canada-based Norada Corporation and by U.K.-based Zestia can potentially track thousands of contacts.
